Nice
With the help of my friends, I hosted a successful dinner party last night. It was quite the feast with a turkey and ham and then tons of side dishes and desserts and plenty to drink. We stuffed ourselves then played Cranium as a huge group. My team won, of course. After Cranium, people started taking off, as was right and good, many of them stopping to thank me, which I will say, really embarrassed me after a point. I didn’t do it alone, and I didn’t do all that much besides organizing it. But so they all left, and I felt fine, and then I felt really good. The (marginal) stress of the party was over, and I was left in a house with a handful of people I feel extremely comfortable around. I could feel myself breathing deeper and all my muscles loosening.
These are people I can hang out around and never feel like I have to watch what I say or do. These are people with similar interests, no one around roll their eyes when we pull out a book and make fire kites with newspapers and matches. Me and Daniel and Kyle and Dave all making kites and lighting them and appreciating them together while Christine cleans up (drunkenly) and doesn’t admonish us for sending fire into the sky, even though she probably didn’t approve.
