Yeah Harmony!
So I am counting journal entries as part of these final portfolios I have to grade (they have to have 75 300-word entries for the semester; I am a harsh task-mistress) when I happen to notice my name on the back of a final entry in one. So I count all the entries and stop to read the final one to see what it says.
Why I Liked Harmony
She is cool—when she runs into a giant corn cob walking down the street, she stops and gives high 5s. She cusses in class and treats us like equals not like she’s high above us. She is quirky and interesting and unique. She brings in fun games to play and gives us a break from studying to play Pass the Pigs. She gives out prizes like a cool mini bowling set that I won for knowing everyone’s names. She will talk back to those who smart off with her and uses her authority when needed to cut certain people off. She gave us interesting, unique examples of short stories. She gave us numerous examples of her own revisions so that we would understand what it’s like. She doesn’t get pissed when we are late or not there—but she enacted a tasty rule instead that we have to bring food when we’re late or absent. She has a great sense of humor. She’s real and she taught us lots.
Yeah Harmony!

So . . . are you insulted to be called "real"?
Why would that be insulting?
